Brief Description of the Project:

 

Assistance to upgrade technology, facilities and financial capability in the production of karagumoy-based product (bags, mats and other downstream products in Cagraray Island)

The project also tends to addressed the vulnerabilities of the identified target beneficiaries by way to enhancing the DEVELOPMENT OF KARAGUMOY PRODUCT towards resilient and sustainable livelihood

Project Location: Brgy. MANAET and the Neighboring Coastal Barangays in Cagraray Island

 

Project Objectives:

 

General Objective:

 

TO SUPPORT THE ALBAY PROVINCIAL GOVT. GOAL OF PROVIDING GENUINE SOCIAL SERVICES TO THE MARGINALIZED COASTAL AND ISLAND COMMUNITIES BY  IMPROVING ACCESS TO LIVELIHOOD AND ESTABLISHING COMMUNITY-BASED SOCIAL ENTERPRISE.

 

Specific Objectives:

 

TO PROVIDE WINDOWS FOR START-UP CAPITAL; POST HARVEST FACILITES; MARKETING ASSISTANCE AND TRAINING ON PROJECT MANAGEMENT TO THE BENEFICIARIES/MANAET WEAVERS ASSOCIATION

 

To provide community-based livelihood opportunities and social inclusion services to the poor and low income families involved IN KARAGUMOY PRODUCTION in Brgy. Manaet, with innovative solutions

 

To provide capacity building  and technology transfer to various stakeholders

 

To establish social enterprise in the target  coastal communities

 

Project Components:

 

Component 1: Expansion of Hectarage devoted to Karagumoy plantation

Component 2: Construction of Livelihood and Facilitation Center/Building (INFRA COMPONENT)

Component 3:    Micro-Lending for Start-Up Capital and Purchase of Mechanical Dryer & Pressing/Stripping Machine

Component 4: Human Resources Development (Capacity Building & GAD)

Component 5:  Advocacy/Protection of the Environment

Component 6:  Monitoring/Evaluation and Project End Documentation
